Caravaggio and the Masters of Light

Exhibition on Caravaggism at the Historical Infantry Museum

The exhibition Caravaggio and the Masters of Light celebrates the revolutionary influence of Caravaggio, one of the most innovative artists in the history of art, through a journey that brings together 23 paintings by 22 artists of European Caravaggism.

The exhibition, hosted at the Museo Storico della Infanteria from March 7 to June 7, 2026, presents works from important private European collections and recounts the legacy of the dramatic light and realism introduced by Caravaggio in the 17th century.

The exhibition unfolds in six thematic sections that compare works by Italian and international artists, including Bartolomeo Manfredi, Antiveduto Gramatica, and Orazio Gentileschi.
