PYSANKA

The Fragile Beauty of Ukrainian Art

From April 18, 2025, to January 18, 2026, the Casina delle Civette in Villa Torlonia hosts “Pysanka,” an exhibition dedicated to the ancient Ukrainian art of decorated eggs. The exhibition features 74 pysanka and 18 paintings by artists such as Larysa Iskiv, Lilia Babiak, and Volodymyr Lutsyk, in a journey that explores symbols, colors, and age-old traditions.

Each egg is a tale of life and rebirth, an amulet painted with geometric signs and natural motifs. Complementing the experience are monthly demonstration workshops, where visitors can discover firsthand the delicacy of this extraordinary art form.
